Facilities - The Rattray family, pioneers of heritage tourism in South Africa, have created an award
winning lodge. Guided tours to Isandlwana and Rorke’s Drift are a must. Walks and horse rides run through the reserve, with abundant game and bird life, as well as fishing on the Buffalo River.

Accommodation - The Lodge is situated on the site of the original Rattray homestead. Eight luxury
en-suite cottages each have a private verandah, with views of the plains flanking the Buffalo River
gorge. The Guest House was home to Mr Johan Potgieter, the great storyteller of this area, filled with fascinating memorabilia. The six cottages at the Guest House have large en-suite bedrooms and private verandahs, with views of the reserve and surrounding battlefield.
